Abstract

Every physical activity that a person engages in has a positive impact on the quality and health of life. Because of that, it is necessary to encourage children and create positive aspects from an early age to physical activity. Swimming, as a physical activity, has been important since ancient times. It can be defined as the movement and maintenance of a person on the surface of the water, moving in the desired direction of the swimmer. Swimming is often used for health and rehabilitation purposes because it activates almost every muscle in the body, which generally affects the improvement of a person’s health. Swimming lessons are intended for children, adult non-swimmers and all non-swimmers who go to rehabilitation. Getting used to and moving through the water leads to the development of a sense of coordination of movements, self-control and balance. In this way, preschool children will acquire motor skills, which they also need in everyday life. Also, swimming stimulates the proper growth and development of the skeletal system and encourages proper posture of the body, ie the spine. The aim of this final paper is to define swimming, describe the lessons of non-swimmers and determine which are the programs of teaching non-swimmers in preschool children.
