Abstract
The global pandemic of Coronavirus disease 19 (abbreviated Covid-19) has affected almost the entire world in all segments of society, as well as students and their habits and routine. Fear of infection arose in society so they began to avoid enclosed spaces (especially with a lot of people) including public transport. As a result, a significant proportion of students turned to alternative modes of transport, such as using bicycles even on long distances, walking instead of using public transport, etc. There were also changes and some habits due to the fact that cafes and similar places for socializing were closed and could therefore spend their free time at home or in nature. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether the pandemic and to what extent affected the lives of students who during the lockdown in the period from March onwards lived and stayed in Zagreb in the segment of their habits and choice of means of transport. In the research, we start from two basic hypotheses: 1. The Covid-19 pandemic affected travel patterns in terms of increasing the share of travel realized by individual traffic, and especially by bicycle traffic; 2. The transition to bicycle traffic and other individual forms of traffic has had a positive impact on the general physical condition (health), but also more broadly on increasing the quality of life. The methods that would be used in this paper are: analysis of available statistical data (for example, in the sale and use of bicycles), going through related literature, collecting information about habits and attitudes of students in the City of Zagreb through an online survey
