Se identifica la necesidad de apoyar en los procesos internos desde la unidad de proyección social de la Universidad Santo Tomás-Villavicencio, en actividades relacionadas a mejorar su oferta académica en el sector ambiental y su sistema de gestión ambiental. La Facultad de Ingeniería Ambiental de la Universidad Santo Tomás sede Villavicencio, estableció dentro de su plan de acción del año 2021-1, la elaboración de un estudio de mercado tendiente a identificar los posibles programas de pregrado y posgrados que se podrían ofertar en la región de acuerdo con necesidades de la población objeto. Esto para abrir el campo de actuación de la Facultad ante la región y poder de esta manera impactar en la formación de más población. Lo anterior, es necesario para que la Universidad tome más auge a nivel regional y aumente las la demanda de estudiantes, gracias a la oferta que generaría la apertura de nuevos programas académicos.
