Phase composition and microstructure of composites based on Ti3SiC2/Zr-system obtained by spark plasma sintering of preceramic paper

Abstract

This paper is devoted to the synthesis of composites based on Ti3SiC2/Zr-system using preceramic paper and Zr powder as feedstock. The composites of alternating layers of preceramic paper with Ti3SiC2 - powder filler and zirconium powder were sintered in spark plasma under pressure 50 MPa for 10-30 minutes at a temperature range from 1400 to 1600 °С. The influence of spark plasma sintering parameters on sintered materials` s microstructure and phase composition was analyzed.
