Abstract

SIRIUS is a focal-plane detection system aimed to conduct decay spectroscopic studies on heavy and superheavy nuclei. For commissioning the setup, the LISE2000 spectrometer at GANIL was selected due to its availability. Simulations with the LISE++ code showed that the transmission efficiency of the spectrometer is rather small 0.5 %. This study has confirmed this result and also reports why this facility is not suitable for commissioning SIRIUS.
