Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas Instituto Federal do Amazonas (IFAM) - Campus Presidente Figueiredo The tambaqui Colossoma macropomum is the main native species in fish farming in Brazil, with an estimated annual production of 278,671 tons in 2020. Several technological factors are needed to leverage the production of native fish, including the supply of juveniles with genetic quality, good zootechnical performance, in addition to an affordable price. Therefore, producing feed management protocols for breeders from genetic improvement are necessary. The present study evaluated the impact of diet on the reproductive success of tambaqui, aiming to implement management protocols for juvenile production stations in the Amazon. One hundred fish from the AquaBrasil program, aged 5 years, were used. Four tanks of 600m2 T1- daily feed with 28% of crude protein (CP) were used; T2 ??? daily feeding with 32% CP; T3 ??? feeding 3 times a week with 28% CP and T4 ??? feeding 3 times a week with 32% CP, in which 25 fish per tank (15 males and 10 females) were stocked. The sampling unit was the induced female, identified with a pittag microchip. Reproductive indices were compared using descriptive statistics and measures of central tendency. Statistical analyzes were performed using the statistical program R. ANOVA and ANCOVA tests were applied, at a 5% confidence level, to identify significant differences between treatments. The variables, hatching rate and survival rate did not present the necessary assumptions of homogeneity of variance to perform the statistical analyses, being then submitted to descriptive analysis of the data obtained. There was no significant difference between treatments. The animals showed satisfactory results for the species in all treatments evaluated, demonstrating that even in the absence of statistical differentiation, the performance of the animals did not suffer any loss. Based on the evaluated data, it is possible to assume that fish farming stations that work with tambaqui breeding can adopt a fish feeding regime with 28% crude protein, being administered three times a week, without harming the quality performance of the breeders of oocytes and larvae.
