Waste collection was used as reinforcement and polymer used as a matrix through donation. With this, he began to prepare the specimens of new compound, which was produced by means of plastic injection process with proportions of 0%, 2.5% and 5% load. He then performed the mechanical exposure test and his fractures were analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Optical Microscopy (MO). Characterization techniques such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and FTIR (Fourier Transformless Infrared Spectroscopy), DSC (Differential Exploratory Calorimetry) and TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis) analysis and its DTGA derivative were performed. The specimens were analyzed in relation to their mechanical behavior under thermal analysis test and based on the DSC analysis, being real with experiments and with virtual form by the finite element method (FEA). It was possible to verify in the best results of the properties of the new high impact polystyrene compound and Brazil nut shells when compared to the pure HIPS. As the properties that underwent changes were mechanical, after the exposure test, the insulation voltage of the higher load compound increased by approximately 37%, in addition to the resistance of the increase of approximately 52% when compared to the 5% load compound. the pure HIPS. Since the thermal properties changed slightly with respect to its temperature Tg (transition temperature) for the compound with 2.5% increase there was an increase of 0.27% while for the 5% there was no change in relation to the temperature. tidy polymer. O estudo trata-se da utiliza????o de res??duos lignocelul??sicos constitu??dos da casca das sementes da Castanha-do-Brasil (Bertholletia Excelsa), usados como refor??o/carga em comp??sitos polim??ricos com matriz de poliestireno de alto impacto (HIPS). Foi realizada a coleta dos res??duos que foram utilizados como refor??o e do pol??mero utilizado como matriz atrav??s de doa????o. Com isso, iniciou-se a prepara????o dos corpos de prova do novo comp??sito, que foi produzido por meio do processo de inje????o pl??stica com as propor????es de 0%, 2,5% e 5% de carga. Em seguida, realizou-se o ensaio mec??nico de tra????o e suas fraturas foram analisadas por Microscopia Eletr??nica de Varredura (MEV) e Microscopia ??ptica (MO). Foram realizadas t??cnicas de caracteriza????o como Difra????o de Raios-X (DRX) e an??lises de FTIR (espectroscopia no infravermelho com transformada de Fourier), DSC (Calorimetria explorat??ria diferencial) e TGA (Termogravimetria) e sua derivada DTGA. Os corpos de prova foram analisados em rela????o ao seu comportamento mec??nico sob ensaio de tra????o e t??rmico com base na an??lise de DSC, Sendo de forma real com os experimentos e de forma virtual pelo m??todo dos elementos finitos (FEA). Foi poss??vel verificar nos resultados melhoras das propriedades do novo comp??sito de poliestireno de alto impacto e cascas da Castanha-do-Brasil quando comparadas com o HIPS . As propriedades que sofreram altera????es foram a mec??nica, ap??s o ensaio de tra????o, com o aumento da tens??o de escoamento do comp??sito com maior carga em aproximadamente 37%, al??m da Resist??ncia a tra????o aumentar em aproximadamente 52% em comparativo do comp??sito de 5% de carga e o HIPS. J?? as propriedades t??rmicas sofreram pequenas varia????es com rela????o a sua Tg (temperatura de transi????o v??trea) para o comp??sito com 2,5% de refor??o houve um aumento de 0,27% enquanto que para o de 5% n??o houve mudan??a em rela????o ao pol??mero. Assim, a utiliza????o dos res??duos da colheita da Castanha-do-Brasil como carga de comp??sitos de matriz polim??rica ?? uma forma ben??fica para o meio ambiente devido a retirada e o reaproveitamento destes res??duos, al??m de promissora para novas pesquisas em Ci??ncia e Engenharia de Materiais.
