Impact du syndrome d’apnées obstructives du sommeil sur le résultat d’une chirurgie bariatrique, à partir de la cohorte SOON

INTRODUCTION: Bariatric surgery leads to body weight loss and improved obesity-related co-morbidities. This study aimed at evaluating the impact of severe, treated obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) on weight loss, risk of complications and evolution of metabolic comorbidities at 1 year postoperatively. MATERIALS AND METHODS: All patients who underwent bariatric surgery and one-year of post-operative follow-up between September 1, 2013 and June 1, 2019 were included. The percentage of excess weight loss (%EWL), the complications’ rate and the regression of comorbidities were compared between groups with and without severe OSAS. RESULTS: A total of 371 patients, 215 (58%) without and 156 (42%) with severe OSAS were included.
