Compared with other types of energy storage plants, battery energy storage system (BESS) is superior in (i) its flexibility in installation since it can be installed near the load center, (ii) adapting the load growth quickly because of its short period of installation, and (iii) meeting the fast response requirements of the power system dynamics.
