Betydelsen av praktisk personlig färdighet i idrottslärarutbildningen

The article discusses the importance of personal sporting skills in PE TeacherEducation. The article is based on interviews with a group of teachers in PEEducation. They were interviewed about how they perceive the needs of skills in PEStudents. The article also discusses the diminished importance in PE Education ofthe need of physical literacy. A particular focus is on the discussion of personal skillsin dancing and in ball games. The results show that there is a difference between howthe PE educators talk about personal skills in dance and in ball games. There isconsensus concerning the importance of the need for good personal ability indancing, which also permeates the exams that the students are doing. In ball games,on the other hand, the discussion underlines the importance of general skills incoaching and leadership rather than personal skills in various ball games, in order tocreate good learning situations for different groups of pupils.
