Abstract

This issue highlights the Macdonald Institute graduates of 1939, including photographs, and their examination results. The editorial comments on the Royal Visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to the Ontario Agricultural College. Agricultural articles pertain to the infestation of the European Earwig, Henry Ford's new tractor, propagating edible mushrooms, and the Ontario Beekeepers' Association convention. Portrayed in photographs is a successful Farm and Home Week and an article regarding the "tag day" nursery provided by the Macdonald Institute students. An obituary is provided for Dr. Roland Stone, professor of botany. The English column completes the year with a pot-pourri of items. The Macdonald institute column features the 1939 graduation, including an undergraduate member's account of the exercises and the Daisy Chain ceremony. Campus news reports on another successful Farm and Home Week, the young women who work at the campus-dining hall, and the softball team The Haymakers.
