Vector Boson Fusion Production with rm $H \to \gamma\gamma$

A study of CMS discovery potential for an intermediate mass Higgs boson is presented in this note. Results have been obtained for the vector boson fusion (VBF) production mode, rm pp rightarrow rm q q H rightarrow rm q q gamma gamma where the final state includes two high-rapidity jets, during the first years of running at low luminosity. Full detector simulation is used both for the Higgs boson signal and all types of background.
