Physicists assembling GEMs Detectors for the CMS Experiment by artist Ian Purnell

Swiss artist Ian Purnell filmed in the GEM Lab of CMS during his residency at CERN. Following his first residency in early 2022, Swiss artist Ian Purnell returned to the Laboratory for a second research and exploratory stay. Purnell is one of the Connect South Africa-winning artists, alongside Kamil Hassim, the first international residency of Connect – the collaboration framework between Arts at CERN and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia that serves as a platform for dialogue between artistic and scientific communities worldwide.
