Abstract
- This study attempts to analyse the economic effect of the opening of the Akashi-kaikyo Bridge on local industries in Tokushima, focusing on the management of Asty Tokushima. Asty Tokushima, which opened in 1993, functions as a convention and information center for culture and tourism in Tokushima. The stock and flow of goods bought by increasing number of visitors and tourists who visit this center for international conferences, exhibitions and other events, has a significant economic effect on local industries in Tokushima. This economic effect, both direct and indirect, amounts to an estimated five thousand five hundred millon yen.
