Abstract

This report represents a production of a low noise hot-wire anemometer with a constant current mode. This instrument consists of a constant current circuit, a low noise amplifier and a frequency compensator. Newly designed circuits and several techniques that reduce electric noise are described in detail. A typical application for residual turbulence measurement in a wind tunnel is given. The performance of this instrument is satisfactory for the measurement of velocity fluctuations with a turbulence intensity of less than 0.05% and with frequencies of up to 5kHz at the wind speed of 20m/s.
