De ciudades y caminos: geografía urbana y viaje en Adramón

Adramón, a manuscript romance of chivalry written at the beginning of the 16th century, gives rise to a reflection on the role that cities play in the development of the main character of the work, widely represented and described in the plot line and issues. In addition, the anonymous author’s interest in configuring a realistic literary world marks out a work that finds its foundation in the legacies of medieval travel books which are used by the author to create the urban environment in which the protagonist develops.
A partir del periplo del protagonista de Adramón, un libro de caballerías castellano manuscrito de comienzos del siglo XVI, se propone una reflexión sobre el papel que las ciudades, ampliamente representadas y descritas en la trama, juegan en el desarrollo del personaje principal de esta obra. Se destaca, además, el interés del autor anónimo por configurar un mundo literario realista, propuesta de ficción que encuentra fundamento en las herencias de los libros de viaje medievales y de las cuales se vale el escritor para crear el entorno urbano en el que se desenvuelve el caballero.
