Abstract

We have described and analyzed the types of evaluation applied from the teaching practice, the ways of assessing learning and finally propose a form of evaluation that contributes to the application of the intercultural community pedagogical model. This research was of qualitative character with a methodological approach of symbolic interactionism, with the application of the pedagogical model in the process of learning assessment in Social Sciences with Mention in Local Development Major. The application in the classroom, according to the intercultural community pedagogical model, qualitative (diagnostic, formative) and quantitative (summative) evaluation is practiced, being the latter the one that keeps the greatest commitment and, in few cases, the alternative evaluation is practiced, which is more focused on the qualitative. The evaluation proposal that contributes to the application of the intercultural community pedagogical model is based on the integrated pedagogical model and is emphasized in the constructivist pedagogical theory, therefore, it is about practicing evaluation of significant learning, which is characteristic of the model's identity.
