Abstract: A patient with fatal polyarteritis nodosa is described. In spite of overwhelming clinical signs the diagnosis of PAN could not be confirmed by angiography nor histology of macroscopic clearly involved small bowel tissue. Histology of lower limb tissue after amputation confirmed the diagnosis.
