EL ARTE RUPESTRE COMO IDEOLOGÍA: UN ENSAYO ACERCA DE PINTURAS Y GRABADOS EN LA LOCALIDAD DEL RÍO SALADO(DESIERTO DE ATACAMA, NORTE DE CHILE)

Toda comunidad debe reproducirse desde un punto de vista económico y social. Sin embargo, para que esto ocurra el imaginario cultural debe dar paso a la ideología, un tipo de práctica social y cultural que permite este desarrollo representándolo como un proceso carente de contradicciones. En el presente ensayo exploramos en las diversas "retóricas" visuales del arte rupestre del Formativo Temprano Inicial, intentando dar cuenta cómo estas estrategias de representación cultural operaron a nivel ideológico, respecto al crítico proceso de cambio vivido por las comunidades de la región. Por primera vez en el registro rupestre un arte de cazadores operó simultáneamente a un arte de pastores, momento preciso en que el modo de producción cazador recolector del Arcaico Tardío entraba en descomposición, dando paso a una modalidad pastoralista fuertemente orientada al intercambio interregional A community must be reproduced at the economic and social level. The present essay explores various visual "rethorics" of rock art, of the Initial Early Formative period, to understand how these cultural representations operated at the ideological level, during the process of cultural change endured by these communities.
