Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (from New Jersey to Florida, and Gulf of Mexico), Antilles, Venezuela, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul), and Uruguay (Melo 1996). Ecological notes. From intertidal to 60 m. On sand, shell, and coral bottoms (Melo 1996). Remarks. Santos et al. (2016) collected specimens were downstream of the São Francisco River, at the border of Alagoas and Sergipe. Previous records in Sergipe. Santos et al. (2016).
