The concentration of lactic acid in rabbit lenses of various ages

The authors have studied the concentrations of lactate in the lenses of rabbits aged 15 days, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years. The concentration in 15-day-old rabbits is high, while it progressively decreases in rabbits of 6 months, 1, 2, and 3 years. In 4-year-old rabbits the concentration rises and reaches more or less the same level as that in a 1-year-old rabbit.
