Abstract
- The authors have studied the effect of the administration of aldosteronc on the renal clearances of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, 17-ketosteroids, dehydroepiandrosterone and androsterone in a group of normal men in basal conditions and under administration of ACTH or cortisone. The peculiar results obtained make us believe that the aldosteronc may influence directly or indirectly the clearance of steroids at the renal level. Such influence can be hindered by ACTH or cortisone. Further the aldosteronc may act on the metabolism of the 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, delaying their reduction into 17-ketosteroids.
