PRIMO LEVI Y EL ESTADO DE ISRAEL Análisis de una relación compleja a través de sus documentos

espanolEn 2019 se celebra el primer centenario del nacimiento de Primo Levi (1919-1987), testigo imprescindible de la tragedia de Auschwitz y uno de los interpretes mas lucidos de todo el siglo XX. El articulo se propone ofrecer al lector espanol un breve analisis de la evolucion de la vision que el autor de “Si esto es un hombre” tuvo de la realidad politica del Estado de Israel a lo largo de su vida, desde la idealizacion juvenil hasta la identificacion madura del “baricentro del judaismo” en el territorio inmaterial de la Diaspora. Dicho analisis se llevara a cabo a traves de la lectura de algunos de los numerosos textos dedicados por Levi a la cuestion, textos en su mayoria de dificil acceso y, salvo prueba contraria, ineditos en lengua espanola. EnglishIn 2019, we remember the first centenary of Primo Levi (1919-1987), an essential witness of the Auschwitz tragedy and one of the most lucid interpreters of the entire 20th century. This paper aims to offer the Spanish reader a brief analysis of the vision the author of “If this is a man” had of the political reality of the State of Israel during his lifetime, from the youthful idealization to the mature identification of the centre of gravity of Judaism in the immaterial territory of the Diaspora. This analysis will be carried out through the reading of some of the numerous texts dedicated by Levi to this topic. These texts are mostly difficult to access and, unless proven otherwise, unpublished in Spanish.
