Abstract

Preprints are growing, and even more so since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. How can scholarly societies engage with the preprint space, and what are some of the considerations that are helpful when building new preprint communitiesü With this poster, we offer a case study and lessons learned from the first two and a half years of APSA Preprints, a collaboration between the American Political Science Association and Cambridge University Press, which launched in 2019, and uses Cambridge Open Engage technology. We share stats on site usage, user feedback, and also present a run-down of important considerations when setting up a new preprint community, including how to drive collaboration, manage content moderation and ways of integrating preprints with the journals publication process.
