Abstract

Department of Chemistry, D. A. V. College, Muzaffarnagar-251 001 Manuscript received 20 November 1978, revised 28 January 1987, accepted 17 February 1987 Solubilitiesof lauratesand oleates of calcium and cobalt have been measured in organic solvents at temperatures 35-60°and the same bag been found to increase with the rise in temperature showing a marked change at Krafft point. The valueof heat of solution, ∆H3and entropy of solution, ∆S3o\(\imath\) have been calculated. These parameters suggest the presencse or soap micellesin the solutions above Krafft point.
