Distribuzione dei fenotipi di eritromicino-resistenza di Streptococcus pyogenes isolati in un'area circoscritta del Piemonte

The frequency of erythromycin resistance in Streptococcus pyogenes isolated in different Piemonte Region hospitals between January and August 2006 has been studied. The incidence of erythromycin-resistance was 20.2%. Among erythromycin resistant S. pyogenes 13.8% belonged to constitutive resistance phenotype, 5.3% to M phenotype and 1.1% to inducible resistance phenotype.
