Abstract
- ULTIPLE MYELOMA (MM) represents a malignantproliferation of plasma cells derived from a single clone.MM accounts for 13% of all hematologic malignancies inwhites and 33% in blacks. The incidence of myeloma is 1 to 9per 100,000, worldwide with a higher incidence in NorthAmerica (7.1 per 100,000 population for men and 4.6 per100,000 for women) and lower in Asia (China, Japan andIndia).
