Vita Architectura. Architecture, Craftsmanship and the Public World

This paper discusses the public aspects of architectural craftsmanship. Since architecture intervenes in and deal with the world common to its inhabitants, architects bear public responsibility. This public aspect of the field is part of craftsmanship, not simply through explanation of intentions, but needs to be intrinsically immersed in the act of design.
