Bacteremia caused by the photosynthetic environmental bacterium Rhodopseudomonas

Abstract: We report a case of persistent Rhodopseudomonas bacteremia in a patient two months after an allogeneic bone marrow transplant for acute myeloid leukemia. The bacteremia persisted until IV catheter removal. To our knowledge, this is the first report of Rhodopseudomonas causing infection in humans.
