Abstract: Many cosmetic surgery procedures performed today were either developed or refined by dermatologic surgeons. The role played by dermatologic surgeons in the development of dermabrasion, hair transplantation, liposuction, blepharoplasty, face-lift, cutaneous implants, fat transplantation, chemical peel, and sclerotherapy is described.
