Abstract
- In the last years the aerospace industry has put a growing effort to develop on-board electrification. The difficulties, which have emerged to implement the transition to the future aircraft, concern above all the constraints to be respected for aircraft applications (reliability, small size, reduced maintenance time, etc.). The present paper proposes to analyze and discuss the power devices and suitable converter topologies that bring the requirements of the airborne applications, especially devoted to match with the reliability and performance issues.
