Abstract
- Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare cutaneous eruption of small, nonfollicular, sterile pustules on an edematous and erythematous background. This cutaneous eruption is frequently accompanied by systemic findings, including fever and leukocytosis. Although the vast majority of AGEP cases are associated with medications, infectious causes have been implicated.1, 2, 3 Once the underlying cause is addressed, symptoms typically resolve spontaneously within 2 weeks. Given the potential for serious comorbidities, identifying the underlying cause is imperative for successful outcome. This case report describes AGEP associated with an acute coccidioidomycosis infection.
