Abstract
- Oxymonacanthus longirostris (Bloch & Schneider 1801) —Longnose filefish (Fig. 168) Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 512). A specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 4 m depth, by Dean Tully on 26 Sept. 2015. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Samoa, north to Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands, south to southern Great Barrier Reef (Australia), Lord Howe Island, New Caledonia and Tonga. Fond in clear lagoon and seaward reefs with live Acropora corals, 1–30 m depth.
