Social Identity Components in Individual Performance and The Role of Behavioral Intention: A Research on Academicians

Mevcut çalışmada, sosyal kimliğin bilişsel, duygusal vedeğerlendirmeye dayalı alt boyutlarının rol-içi ve rol-dışı performansa olanetkileri ve davranışsal niyetin bu süreçte bir aracılık rolü olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır.Araştırma 592 akademik personel üzerinden kolayda anket yöntemiyle toplananveriler üzerinden yürütülmüştür. Değişkenler arasındaki etkileşimler içinyapısal eşitlik modeli kurulmuş, modeldeki aracılık rolleri için dolayıetkilerin anlamlılığına bakılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda rol performansını yalnızcasosyal kimliğin değerlendirme alt boyutundaki önem hissinietkilediği, rol-dışı performansın sosyalkimliğin bilişsel alt boyutundaki çalışma arkadaşlarıyla olan ilişkilerietkilediği, sosyal kimliğin duygusal altboyutlarından bağlılığın davranışsal niyeti etkilediği ancak davranışsalniyetin bu süreçte bir aracılık rolünün olmadığı ortaya çıkarılmıştır.
In the present study. the role of cognitive. emotionaland evaluative social identity on in-role and extra-role performance and the mediatingrole of behavioral intention in these interactions were investigated. Theresearch was conducted on the data collected from 592 academic staff with a conveniencesurvey method. For the interactions between variables. a structural equationmodel was established. and the significance of the indirect effects wasexamined for the mediating roles in the model. Findings show that the sense of significanceas the evaluative sub-dimension of social identity has an impact on roleperformance. the relationship with the colleagues as the cognitive sub-dimensionof social identity has an impact on extra-role performance. the commitment asthe affective sub-dimension of social identity has an impact on behavioral intentionwithout any moderating roles of behavioral intention in these processes.
