Abstract: In their Perspective “The boon and Bane of radiocarbon dating” (21 Jan., p. [362][1]), T. P. Guilderson et al. raise some important issues in radiocarbon (14C) dating. They discuss the problems of calibrating 14C dates that fall within “age plateaus” of the 14C calibration curve and conclude
