Abstract
- Reduced lightweight microstrip patch antennas have attracted considerable attention in ultra‐wideband (UWB) applications. In this article, a novel modified circular ultra‐wideband monopole antenna with dual‐band notch characteristics is proposed. A circular split‐ring slot and a mushroom‐electromagnetic bandgap‐type structure are employed to realize the dual‐band notch characteristics. The proposed antenna exhibits the bandwidth of 2.0‐12 GHz with a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio
