Abstract

Phyllostachys flexuosa is a fast-growing bamboo that is often cultivated as an ornamental and for its culms. This species expands quickly by underground rhizomes and has the potential to form dense stands and outcompete native vegetation and alter soil conditions. Currently, it is listed as invasive only in Cuba and New Caledonia.
