Le corruzioni particolari. Alcune circostanze di un Novecento picaresco

Picked up broadly from the European canon of the second half of the 20th century novel, these narrative situations show a crisis in the traditional novelistic essence – with Pavel, the «idealistic» aspiration – through a series of comic devices. In Mann, Grass, Beckett, Celati the picaresque re-emerges with its typical features: Ich-Erzählsituation, everyday, comic, and corporal dimension, mechanism of encounters as a diegetic engine. The teleological fulfillment of Bildung in the institution of marriage, work, and in general bourgeois time is defamiliarized in a model in which the adventure is organized through the device of the promiscuous encounter between the protagonist and a myriad of grotesque prototypes that follow one another in a paratactic structure.
