Intravenous diazepam: an improvement in pre-endoscopic medication

Abstract
- Diazepam appears to be a very useful agent in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Titrating the dose to patient response should increase the incidence of amnesia and keep to a minimum the number of endoscopies abandoned due to lack of patient cooperation.
