Abstract
- Flexible fiberoptic endoscopes are being increasingly used for direct visualization and biopsy of lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. The spectrum of gastrointestinal complications associated with fiber-optic esophagoscopy, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy is reviewed. Radiologic recognition and evaluation of these iatrogenic incidents is of critical importance.
