Abstract
- Nurses at various times and in various places find their aims as nurses in conflict with their situation, such as having too many patients to do any justice to any of them. Nursing in the military requires prioritizing the mission of the department of defense, that is to say maintain the readiness of the fighting force and to function within a strict hierarchical organization with respect to authority. Within this context, nurses in the United States military today are asked to assist members of the armed forces who are struggling with sacrifices during very confusing and uncertain times.
