Abstract
- 8 pp. (2004).<br />In the beginning of 2003, the ILC-TRC published its second report on the status of R&D towards the current proposed designs for an $e^+e^−$ linear collider [1]. The nearly 500 page report was the end result of over one year of intense work by over 30 scientists from the various linear collider related laboratories around the world. Charged with making a critical review of the machine designs, while identifying outstanding R&D items, the end result in itself represents a unique resource of information for anyone interested in the subject (both expert and novice alike). In the following report, I will summarise the findings of the committee, with perhaps a slightly personal perspective. Those readers who are interested in the subject are encouraged to read at least the executive summary (on which this report is loosely based), if not the entire report.
