Abstract: Combined elevated sputum eosinophils+neutrophils in asthma associated with lowest lung function, greater healthcare utilization, and longitudinally, further spirometric loss, implicating cell-cell interactions or overlapping inflammatory pathways while increased eosinophils or neutrophils alone show less effect.
