Abstract
- Powders of iron-vanadium, in equiatomic proportions, and pure iron were ground down by high-energy milling for different times. The evolution of the magnetic properties was investigated by the flux measurement technique. On increasing the milling time we observed the effects of particle size change and interatomic intermixing which were checked by Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. After 48 h of milling, the structure and magnetic results agree in proving that an amorphous phase develops in the FeV system. Moreover, at low milling times (
