A Decision Support System For Management Of Sunn Pest (Eurygaster Integriceps Puton.) In Wheat

Sunn pest has been recognized as a serious pest of wheat and barley throughout the Near andMiddle East and much of the former USSR, for more than 70 years. So a decision support system wasdeveloped to assist farmers and extension agents to control this pest. The system consists of sunn pestidentification tool and strategic scenario planning to manage it economically or sustainably on a nationalscale. This system can provide advice based on important factors such as climatic situations, biology andpopulation dynamics of pest, sampling techniques and wheat cultivars. Economical recommendations can bemade on the base of economic injury level, wheat price, expected yield and pesticide cost. Finally, systemwill provide advices on the base of biological or chemical control and assist to manage pest during nextyears.
