Abstract: The meeting held in 1999, on May, the 7th at Aix-en-Provence, dealing with materials used to make sculptures (not so often studied till nowadays), presents a set of various papers from Protohistory to Middle Ages (historiography, material analysis technics, study of cases choosen in Gallia Narbonensis,). Different approaches and various experiences have been compared and an inventory of recent studies in the area was drawn up. The papers deal mainly with material from the Museums of Gallia Narbonensis.<br />La journée du 7 mai 1999 à Aix-en-Provence a permis (jusqu'ici assez peu exploré), des contributions variées allant de la d'analyse des matériaux, étude d'exemples en Narbonnaise).
