Abstract

The influence of the transition metals T = Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Ru, Os, Pd on the Mossbauer characteristics and corrosion resistance of Fe 80 T 3 B 17 metallic glasses was studied. It was found that the additives improving magnetic properties decrease corrosion resistance and vice versa. The changes of the isomer shift are interpreted in terms of changes of the electronic structure caused by alloying with transition metals.
