Immigration et chômage

Immigration and Unemployment. This paper reviews the recent theoretical and empirical literature on the impact of immigration on unemployment. In the first part of the paper, we study the relative situation of immigrants and native workers. We underline factors which are likely to explain observed disparities and their evolution. In the second part of the paper, we analyse the impact of immigration on the category unemployment rates. We notably lay emphasis on the impact of immigration on the unemployment of natives whose productive characteristics are closed to those of the immigrants.
Manon Domingues Dos Santos Immigration et chômage. Cette contribution propose une synthèse des travaux théoriques et empiriques étudiant l'incidence de l'immigration sur le chômage. Dans une première partie, nous analysons la situation relative des travailleurs immigrés et autochtones en mettant en exergue les principaux facteurs susceptibles d'expliquer certaines disparités avérées et leur évolution. Dans une seconde partie, nous explicitons l'impact de l'immigration sur les taux de chômage catégoriels, en mettant l'accent sur l'incidence de l'immigration sur la propension au chômage des autochtones ayant des caractéristiques productives proches de celles des immigrés.
