Abstract
- Mandibular ramus sagittal split osteotomy is widely used for the treatment of dentofacial deformities of the mandible. The condylar position after this operation is thought to have a great influence on the occurrence of short-term relapse and/or temporomandibular joint disorders. ~3 Therefore, it is very important that the condyles remain in their planned position after the operation. A technique that can be used to keep the condyles in position involves fixing each proximal segment to an upper molar with a positioning plateJ We have improved this system by adding a prefabricated orthodontic face bow. This method shortens the operation time and results in accurate condylar positioning.
