Abstract: We present a newly developed photothermal imaging technique to perform absorption spectroscopy of individual nano-objects. Intrinsic size effects in the surface plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles and CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals in the multiexcitonic regime are studied.
